RBS Director Visits David Luke

Dave Whiteman, Regional Director of RBS, spent a day with schoolwear supplier David Luke, on Thursday 24th June, as part of a job-swap scheme that aims to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Dave, who heads up the bank’s business & commercial operations in Greater Manchester, launched the bank’s `Back to Business’ initiative, where his team of 95 Relationship Managers will spend a day working for their clients in return for a donation to charity. The money raised will go to Children’s Safety Education Foundation, a Stockport-based charity which provides all children in the UK with preventative safety education.

Dave worked in a range of areas during the day, helping to unload a container of blazers and then picking and packing them. He also spent time with the Customer Service and Merchandise teams, and received a comprehensive overview of the companies accounts and cashflow figures. In return for his time, David Luke made a very generous donation of £1000 to the initiative.

The scheme will allow the Relationship Manager’s at RBS to gain a greater understanding of some of their key clients and help strengthen relationships.

David Burgess, Managing Director of David Luke, said: “I am delighted that David Luke were asked to be involved in this initiative. It is particularly satisfying that CSEF, who are a Children’s Safety Charity, stand to gain so much from the idea. In fact we all gain something, which is perfect. Well done Dave Whiteman from RBS”.
